Lisa Gouveia will be representing Ambiance Fleur Eclectics for the second consecutive year at Phoenix Art Museum’s 7th Annual Arts & Flowers exhibit, March 31 — April 3, 2011. A total of 60 botanical designers were chosen this year to interpret the unique art pieces currently being displayed at the Museum.

This year’s event promises to be an explosion of floral scent and color for your senses! Each design will be judged by a team of professional floral judges and Museum curators, as well as visitors. Please join us for Arts & Flowers 2011!

An inattentive floral designer (in many cases, venue-recommended!) can hurt you. You remember her. She’s the one that built a three-foot tall jungle on the board-room table, left water on the chairs and didn’t read the specs about the V.P. hating lilies (his ex-wife’s favorite).

Solution? Unless you know the on-site botanical designer to be a completely amazing perfectionist of impeccable, detail-oriented service — bring your own.

Ever wondered if botanical arrangements have any real effect on interior spaces (or people)? …or your bottom line? Here’s your answer:

Dutch Researchers at Wageningen University have recently concluded that, at an unconscious level, flowers have a positive influence on the way restaurant-goers perceive each other, as well as how enjoyable they remember the restaurant experience to be.

People are perceived to be more cheerful, warmer, more enjoyable and accessible in rooms with flower arrangements, the study shows.

They are also perceived as less arrogant, tense, egocentric, shy, suspicious, and moody than when encountered in a room without flowers.

When they are in rooms with flowers, people have more of a feeling of well-being than when they are in rooms without flowers.

Fresh, well-kept flowers in a restaurant give the impression that the proprietor is taking good care of his guests.

However, badly cared-for, wilted flowers will cause the guest to question the restaurants quality. Project leader Dr. Jozina Mojet comments that, Well-cared for vase flowers are an easy but effective way to improve a restaurants image.

The study results were consistent in a variety of other business environments like banks and hotel lobbies, but did not hold true for public spaces such as train stations and airports.
